Cari Lacey: Originally from Central California, Cari grew up singing and taught herself guitar at a young age. While she has a passion for a wide array of musical styles, from bluegrass and country, to blues and rock, she has found her niche in country-folk music. A lover of the outdoors and former collegiate athlete, Cari enjoys staying active and immersing herself in nature. While she remains tied to the west, Cari has planted her roots on the east coast where she now resides in Virginia.  A fresh face to the genre, Cari is just getting started in her music career with her debut album, “By the Water” hitting streaming platforms April 19, 2024. 

Safe Sex: Safe Sex is an indie funk band based in Richmond, VA, blending the groove of old-school funk, the creativity of modern indie, and the energy of dance-driven music. Safe Sex features four core members and a rotating lineup of guest artists on strings and horns. Fronted by the powerful, soulful vocals of Katy Pumphrey, Safe Sex delivers a high energy sound crafted to get everyone dancing. Inspired by the classics but driven by a fresh, contemporary vibe, their shows are a celebration of funky bass lines, tight rhythms, and catchy melodies, where everyone’s invited to move and groove.
